Bulloch BBQ is a Statesboro, GA BBQ staple that believes in the perfect seasoning blends for each type of cut and meat. A food truck and competition team they needed a visual brand to match their level of quality and craftsmanship. Not using sauce to hide the magic we wanted to reflect this craft but simplicity in the visual identity. Working with Pioneer Design we highlighted all meats they serve in a clear way across their visual identity, while making it casual and approachable.
The Challenge
The Process
We knew that every BBQ brand has some form of a cow, pig, chicken, etc. so it was a line to walk of being too cliché and too “abstract.” As we tinkered we found that leaning into the three animals to show the meats that they work with on a contestant bases was the solution. But we still wanted to try and take a new spin on an idea that has been done many times before.
This also meant some little piggies didn’t make it to market (yes, I realize this is a bad joke and that’s what I’m here for).
Found that the pig making up the negative space in the cow created a fun way to have them interact and allowed for the chicken to nestle in as well. So once some of the limbs were tweaked and adjusted to make it feel smooth and organic we were off to the races with secondaries and other fun little elements to throw in with labels and other materials.
