The Challenge

UIC (Underground Infrastructure Contractors) provides end- to-end directional drilling services to companies with a professional tone of voice. Helping them trust and establish  a long-term relationship with their clients. For this we wanted to give them a look and mark that matched this professional tone but also one that stood out in their market.

From the moodboard it felt like we had an ace in the bag, a few ideas that felt strong and ones that we could knock out of the park. As the project continued it didn’t end up as “easy” as possible, which lead to countless ideas, reservations, but as they say “iteration leads to ideation.” So with iteration and the value of treating it like it’s our own brand it lead to a strong outcome that we didn’t even have in earlier rounds of ideas.

In the end we took “UIC” into a target shape with arrows to help with character designation, symbolize direction, and to show UIC’s commitment to finish the work that they start.
